The Kiama region offers a selection of walks that will keep you on the right track, revealing some of nature's finest work as the perfect backdrop.

KIAMA COASTAL WALK

The Kiama Coastal Walk - a stunning 22km pathway accompanying the sparkling coastline, with spectacular ocean views, birdlife, basalt, beaches, bays and blowholes. Take your time or take your marks - choose your own pace, suitable for most levels of fitness.
Minnamurra River to Kiama Blowhole - Grade: Medium Distance: 8.4km Time: 3 hours
Blowhole Point to Lovers Bay - Grade: Medium/Hard Distance: 5km Time: 1.5 hours
Lovers Bay to Gerringong - Grade: Medium/hard Distance: 6km Time: 2 hours

MINNAMURRA RAINFOREST
Budderoo National Park

Follow tourist Drive 9 through Jameroo to find this rare remnant of subtropical and warm temperate rainforest. Experience the peace and serenity while viewing lyrebirds, water dragons, ancient fig trees, rock orchids, elkhorns and lush ferns.

The Falls Walk - Grade: Medium/Steep in parts Distance: 2.6km Time: 1 hour

ILLAWARRA FLY TREETOP WALK

Capture spectacular views of the rainforest along the Illawarra escarpment on the 1500m walk through the beautiful warm temperate rainforest. The springboard cantilevers take you to the edge of the escarpment and the 45m high spiral "Knights Tower" provides breathtaking views.
Grade: Easy Distance: 1500m Time: 1-2 hours

SEVEN MILE BEACH
National Park

The long sweep of Seven Mile Beach is backed by sand dunes and forest. From the end of Beach Road there is an easily accessible walkway (wheelchair friendly) to a viewing platform and the beach. Nearby is a large grassy picnic area with gas barbeques in the pleasant Bagalay Forest setting. From the picnic area there are marked walking tracks through the forest.

CARRINGTON FALLS
Budderoo National Park

A series of walks based around a spectacular waterfall dropping 50m into a gorge in Kangaroo Valley. Once you are there you will find walking access to several lookouts including a track suitable for people with disabilities. There are picnic tables, toilets and an information board.
Grade: Easy/Medium Time: 25 min to 2.5 hours

SPRING CREEK WETLANDS

Spring Creek offers a wonderful example of rehabilitated wetlands. Walk along the banks of Spring Creek to the lagoon through a variety of regenerating bushland or enjoy the view from the constructed hide where you will find numerous waterbirds and common bush birds.
Grade: Easy Distance: 1.5km return Time: 30 minutes

BARREN GROUNDS

Stretching from Kiama to Robertson along the top of the escarpment this plateau reserve is a favourite for walkers and birdwatchers. Barren Grounds offers many walks taking in views of the coastline and surrounding countryside.

Illawarra Lookout Walk - Grade: Medium Distance: 2.6km Time: 1 hour
Flying Fox Walk - Grade: Medium Distance: 2.6km Time: 1 hour
Cooks Nose Lookout Walk - Grade: Medium Distance: 6km Time: 2.5 hours
Griffiths Trail and Natural Stone Bridge - Grade: Medium Distance: 8km Time: 3 hours
Kangaroo Ridge Walk - Grade: Medium Distance: 19km Time: 7-8 hours

HODDLES TRACK

Park your car at Saddleback Mountain Lookout and follow the green marking posts up into the escarpment to Mt Noorinan. This track was originally used to transport produce to Kiama for shipping in the 1800s and at one point stretched all the way to Bowral.
Grade: Moderate/Steep Distance: 7km Time: 2 hours return
